Hello all, Just wanted to send a quick update.
Melissa will be helping lead a team from Calvary Chapel Lynchburg to Calvary Chapel Kensington (The Rock) in Philadelphia from Wednesday, 10/29/25 through Sunday, 11/2/25. Please pray for safety for her and the rest of the team and a fruitful time ministering there along side The Rock.
Unfortunately the deal for the space we were hoping to rent for Rest For Your Soul fell through. We will continue to minister on the corner of Jamison Ave and 13th street throughout the winter as much as possible unless/until the Lord provides an indoor space for us. If that is His will. If not, we will just keep doing what we are doing until He says otherwise.
That being said, about 1/3 of the monthly cost for the Rest For You Soul portion of ministry is being covered by people/organizations that have committed to reoccurring monthly donations. The total monthly cost for Rest for Your Soul is approximately $1800.
We are asking you to consider partnering with us in this ministry through donations and prayer.
I realize $1800 per month for a street outreach might seem like a lot but when you consider that we minister to an average of 80 people each week, it works out to be just over $5 per person. This includes 2 slices of pizza, 2 bottled drinks (water, Gatorade, SunnyD, etc.), 4 snacks (personal bags of chips, granola bars, packs of snack crackers, etc.), hygiene kits (2 single use packs of shampoo and body wash, a toothbrush, a travel tube of tooth paste, 3 body bath wipes, a travel size deodorant, chap stick and feminine pads for the ladies.), Bibles, Gospel syntheses and gospel tracts. A lot of times we are able to afford to add socks and rain ponchos. So we really are able to provide a lot to these people for just a little over $5.
With the weather getting colder we also hope to be blessed to afford to give out gloves, hats and hand warmers as well as maybe incorporating some hot drinks like coffee and hot chocolate.
