A HUD-funded grant program designed to reduce lead poisoning in children age 5 and under by
stabilizing lead-bases paint hazards found in rental and single-family homes built in City of Roanokeprior to 1978. Home improvements may include items such as new windows and paint. Healthy Homes
issues such as fire/safety, mold/moisture, falling/tripping, and electrical hazards may also be addressed.
Applicants must have at least one child age 5 or under living in the home or visiting on a regular basis
to qualify.
