Hello everyone, we hope you are doing well.
Our weekly ministry in Southeast Roanoke, Rest For Your Soul, is possibly looking at some changes in the near future. I have been talking with the pastor of a church very close to where we set up our outreach every Tuesday about possibly renting from space from them.
If this works out, we would have a room to store and distribute all of the supplies that are purchased and donated for this ministry including many supplies that have been donated that we have not been able to distribute on the corner.
It would allow us to do a Bible study. After the Bible study, we would have the space and means to cook and serve a meal for the people we are ministering to instead of buying premade food. (They have to be present for the Bible study to get the meal and supplies)
We would still have a couple of people on the corner with just a few items (maybe bottles of water and a few snacks), evangelizing, praying with and pointing people to the church for the Bible study, meal and supplies.
We are asking that all of you please pray for God to give us wisdom, and discernment for the direction He would have us go. Every decision that we have made about this ministry, we fully believe that it has been by God’s leading. We don’t want to change, add or remove anything from what He has already told us to do unless He is telling us to do so.
We are extremely thankful for the Rest For Your Soul team and donations that we have already received and we ask you also pray for God’s continued provision of finances and helpers for this ministry, whether it be with four walls and a roof or out on the corner under a canopy.
Specific items that are currently needed if you feel so led: plastic grocery style bags, snacks (granola bars, Nabs, etc), bottles of water and bottles of Gatorade or similar.
