The fruit is starting to bloom

The fruit is starting to bloom

So yesterday was our 6th outreach in S.E. Roanoke and it was our busiest to date. I could not tell you how many people we talked to or gave food/supplies to. What I can tell you is that in 2 hours we gave out 16 large pizzas (1-2 slices per person), 34 hygiene kits (each containing a Gospel Synthesis), several dozen bottles of water, Sunny D, Gatorade and Hi-C, several Bibles and tracts and a lot of snacks. We evangelized, we prayed for, we prayed over, we listened, we comforted, we rebuked, we counseled, we advised, we built relationships.

And right in the middle of the madness, a man Jeff was talking to gave his life to the Lord and a women that Melissa was talking to mentioned that she would like to get baptised soon.

God is so good.

We are all extremely exited about the future of this ministry and to see how God is going to use it. We really want to be able to get some pictures of this ministry in action but none of us has been able to do that so far. We barely have time to set up and pray before it’s full throttle and the next we know, we’re done.

If you feel led to donate, you can give supplies to directly myself, Melissa or Alex or you can have them delivered to us. Financial donations can be made on our website or in person.

And please, please, please keep praying for the team and the people we are ministering to, pray for the weather to be good on Tuesday afternoons, pray for continued favor with the businesses in the area that are helping us (Dollar General and Emilio’s Pizza), pray for us to find or provide a place for these people to go when they come to faith in Jesus to be discipled, pray for more labors to come along side us in this work.

Items we are running low on this week:

  • Lip balm for the ladies https://a.co/d/8iw4jsz
  • Snacks (chips, crackers, granola bars, etc)
  • Drinks (bottled water, Sunny D, Hi-C, etc)
  • a few large print Bibles for those who’s eyes aren’t the best (preferably easier to understand translations)
  • We also need some full size Bibles that we can use for the Bible study we are starting immediately following the outreach. We will keep those and hand them out for the Bible study and then collect them after.

As always, much love and God Bless you

Derek, Melissa and Alex
