The Harvest is great but the laborers are few.

So…. Yesterday was our second day doing the outreach in S.E. Roanoke and all I can say is WOW! Praise God!

Last week we were able to talk/pray with 15-20 people, yesterday it was closer to 40 people in 2 hours. We had no idea that it would grow this quickly. We ran out of everything; Bibles, toothbrushes and tooth paste, packs of hand wipes, snacks, Sunny D (they really like Sunny D), everything we had was gone. We went through 8 large pizzas from Emilios.

A few came just for the pizza and left quickly, most of the others were receptive to a conversation about Jesus and a few came just wanting prayer.

There were others who we didn’t even get a chance to talk to because for most of the time there were only 4 of us and we did the best we could but we could not get to everyone.

That saddens me. There were people who came to our outreach that we didn’t get a chance to talk to, to see where they stood with Christ, had they even been told the truth about Him, did they need prayer, will we get another chance to meet them? But more importantly, will they get another chance to meet Him?

That being said, we could use some help.

We need people. People to evangelize, to pray with people, to serve food and supplies, to pray for the ones evangelizing and praying with people. We do this from 1-3(ish) every Tuesday afternoon. If you would like to come help us, you can call me directly at 540-580-1587.

We need help with prayer. If you can’t come help person, could you take a few minutes on Tuesdays between 1 and 3 pm to pray for us and the people we are ministering to, that would be extremely helpful. I have personally seen the effects of long distant prayer. It is amazingly powerful.

We need help with supplies. We need Bibles (preferably easier to read contempoary translations, many of these people are unchurched), snacks, hygiene items (see list below), bottles of water, bottles of Sunny D, You can give these items to one of us directly or if you can have them shipped to Buchanans In The Wild 5227 Rock Hill Dr. Roanoke Va. 24014

• Toothbrushes and toothpaste (individually wrapped)
• Small or travel size soap or body wash (individually wrapped)
• Small or travel size shampoo/conditioner (individually wrapped)
• Deodorant for men and women (individually wrapped)
• Feminine hygiene products (individually wrapped)
• Packets of hand wipes
• Chapstick
• Body wipes (individually wrapped)
• Gallon size ziplock style bags to make up hygiene kits
• We have at least one young lady who needs prenatal vitamins
