Hello everyone. Melissa, myself and rest of the team arrived safely in Manila last night, with no major snags other than forgetting one of mine and Melissa’s suitcases at the airport. We realized right as we were getting to the apartment that we are staying, so Jayden and Maddie drove me back to get it.
Today, we were at the Access Center. Michelle did the first part of Trauma Recognition and counseling training for the staff of the Access Center and Carmen and Andy’s team. Melissa started preparing for her Jewelry making class (hoping to give some of youth a craft to make money, and it’s fun). Daniel shot some video footage and led everyone in a devotional. Alex and I looked into some of the repairs needed to the building.
We spent part of the evening at Manila’s tree light ceremony where we met several of the kids who attend the Access Center. Then back to the apartment for showers, food, hangout a little and bed.
Later today, Wednesday, I will start leading the staff and team in a 3 part devotional on our identity in Christ. Today will also be the first day that the team gets to interact with the kids at The Access Center.
Please keep us in your prayers. These children have suffered so much at the hands of others. Yesterday was already a very emotional day for a lot of the team and staff, I think today will be far more so.
We want to thank everyone again for following the Lord’s leading in your prayer and support. Melissa and I are so blessed by every one of you.
