We hope you and yours are doing well. I apologize that it’s been so long since I sent out an email update. The last couple months have been a very busy time for us.
Now for the exciting news, I mentioned.
Starting on Saturday September 12th we will be doing a second outreach in a different location in Southeast Roanoke. We will start off by doing one Saturday a month on the second Saturday of each month until we can make sure we have a solid team in place to handle this outreach at which point we will start going every week.
For our Tuesday afternoon outreach we set up on the corner of Jamison Avenue and 13th St. in Southeast Roanoke right beside the Dollar General. For the Saturday outreach, we will be setting up down the road in Fallon Park at their pavilion whenever it’s available and under our canopy tent when it’s not available.
Our Hope for the Saturday outreach, other than ministering to potentially more and different people is to utilize the pavilion when it’s available for a short Bible study. Because the pavilion is further off the street, and compared to where we currently set up on Tuesdays, it will be a much quieter location. There is also a lot more seating at the picnic tables, and it is completely shaded and out of the rain.
We are looking for volunteers for Saturdays. We need people to pray with people, evangelize, preach, answer Biblical questions and help hand out the food and supplies.
We will also need more financial donations to cover the cost of these supplies.
For both days the schedule will be the same:
12 pm – meet at storage unit for prayer and load up
12:40 pm – arrive at location and set up
12:55 pm – pray in
1-3 pm Outreach
3 (ish) pm – tear down, load up, go back to storage unit, unload, debrief meeting and prayer
