Hello all. Yesterday,, Wednesday 6/4/25, we left from Calvary Chapel Lynchburg at 7am and drove what was supposed to be 6 hours but ended up being closer to 8 (gotta live traffic). We arrived at The Rock, Calvary Chapel Kensington, just shy of 3pm. We got a quick introduction, did a prayer walk as they showed us the different ministries that they do or are in the process of building. They have the main building that includes the boxing gym, the sanctuary, their offices, classrooms and housing for interns and teams among other things.
They have a building called “The Drop-in Center” which people can go to to get information on differs resources available in the area, the “Coin Center” where they do various Bible studies and host there monthly “Coffee Shop”, the “Garden “ where they grow some of their own fresh produce.
Buildings that are in progress are; the Women’s Center” where they help women during pregnancy giving them options other than abortion (almost complete), a barber shop with low income apartments above it, a bakery also with low income apartments above it and a thrift store. ( I think that is everything)
Today after morning devotionals, prayer and breakfast we went to help finish demo on the interior of the building that will become the barber shop then back to the main building for showers than the guys helped with sports training and the ladies helped with after school help with the younger kids.
